the story

As a baby, Hanuman saw the rising sun and, thinking it was a ripe fruit, leapt into the sky to grab it. The gods panicked! A sage's curse took his powers away — but a blessing promised they would return one day, and wake up the moment he was reminded of his purpose.

Years later, Rama's brother lay wounded on the battlefield and the only cure was a herb called Sanjeevani, growing on a faraway mountain. Hanuman flew to the mountain, stared at the hundreds of glowing herbs — and, unable to tell which one was right, lifted the entire mountain and carried it home through the sky. Everyone was saved.

When Sita was stolen away to Lanka, it was Hanuman who leapt across the ocean in a single bound to find her, carrying Rama's ring as a promise: 'He is coming.' His strength is famous, but it is his loyalty that families remember when they chant his name.
