Questions parents ask 🌼

Everything about the free stories, the Family Plan, and how reading is counted — in plain words.

▸Is it really free to try?

Yes. Every family can open 5 different stories, 2 festival stories and 3 shlokas for free — no sign-up, no card. The games and quizzes are free too. Re-reading a story your child already opened doesn't count again, so they can re-read their favourites as many times as they like.

▸What happens after the 5 free stories?

When your child opens a 6th new story, the reader gently shows a message that the free stories are all read, with a button to the Family Plan. Nothing is charged automatically — you choose whether to subscribe. Stories already opened stay readable.

▸What does the Family Plan include?

Unlimited stories for the whole family: every god story, every festival storybook, all 61 shlokas and chalisas, bedtime mode with lullaby and read-aloud voice, and the parent dashboard where you choose which stories appear in the reader and see your child's reading progress. It's $4.99/month or $39.99/year (two months free).

▸How do I pay, and is it safe?

Payment is handled by Paddle, a secure checkout used by thousands of software companies. We never see or store your card details. You can pay by card or PayPal, and Paddle emails you a receipt for every payment.

▸How is reading counted?

Each new story your child opens counts once per device. Opening the same story again — even days later — doesn't use another free read. The count lives on the device, so if you clear the browser's data it starts fresh.

▸Can I choose which stories my child sees?

Yes — that's part of the Family Plan. From your parent dashboard you can hide or show any story in the library, and new stories we add appear by default unless you hide them.

▸What can I see in the parent dashboard?

Which stories each child has opened and finished, how long they spent reading, their reading streak, and their best scores in the games. You add a profile per child and pick who's reading on each device.

▸Can I cancel the Family Plan?

Anytime, from the link in your Paddle receipt email or by writing to us. You keep access until the end of the paid period. Note that, like our storybook PDFs, subscription payments are final and not refunded for unused time.

▸Who writes the stories? Are they accurate?

The festival stories are simplified retellings that follow the traditional texts — each one names its source (for example the Valmiki Ramayana for Diwali or the Bhagavata Purana for Holi). They're written for ages 3+, so details are gentle and simplified; we always recommend reading along with your child.
